Pacific Central District Interweave
WELCOME to the Pacific Central District of the Unitarian Universalist Association INTERWEAVE site.
Interweave is a membership organization affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association, dedicated to the spiritual, political, and social well-being of Unitarian Universalists who are confronting oppression as lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender persons, and their heterosexual allies; and facilitates the celebration of the culture and lives of its members. We, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender members, and our Heterosexual Allies, affirm that we are bound together not by dogma, but rather by shared values, social concerns, interests and by friendship.
Through this web site individuals and congregations within the Pacific Central District will be able to keep informed about the activities taking place around our district related to issues of concern to LGBT Unitarian Universalists and our heterosexual allies. We also support each other in our Welcoming Congregation activities, the official program from the UUA to make our congregations fully welcoming to LGBTs, and, more importantly, to be vibrant places of worship, social justice, and community building for all. For example, our congregations perform weddings and blessings of children for all our congregants.
PCD activities have included pot lucks, participation in the various LGBT Pride Parades, conferences sponsored by individual congregations, coordinating meetings at the PCD District Assembly and most importantly, finding ways to utilize the tremendous talent available to all of our individual congregations through our pooled resources.
