Our Third Annual
Sermon Awards will be presented at District Assembly, each
with a $250 cash prize, and
this year we are adding a fourth
category:
- Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression,
Multiculturalism
- APF, Fair Share Giving, Our Connection to the
Larger Movement
- Chalice Lighters
- Membership Growth
Any
Unitarian Universalist who resides in the Pacific Central District
is eligible for this award, as a member of the clergy, laity, or as
a seminarian. To qualify, the sermon must have been presented,
or be scheduled to be presented, in a PCD congregation between April 29, 2007 and April 27,
2008.
Sermons must be
submitted electronically by sending them to cilla@pcd-uua.org. No
paper copies will be accepted. All submissions must follow the
following format:
- There must be a title page with the name of the writer, his
or her home congregation, the date the sermon was
presented (or is scheduled to be presented) and where, the sermon title, and the contest
category.
- All pages must have top, bottom, left, and right
margins set to 1-inch.
- Use a standard 12-point type (Times Roman
preferred) and 1-1/2 line spacing.
- Double space betwen
paragraphs.
To ensure unbiased judging,
the writer's identifying information must appear ONLY on the cover
page. These will be removed before the sermons are passed on
to our judging panel.
Entries must be received no later than
April 1, 2008.
The writers must be willing and available to present their sermons
at District Assembly, April 25-27, in Fremont, CA.
